The Shalamar Medical & Dental College (SMDC) aims to provide an environment conducive to students for academic learning and clinical training. SMDC inducted its first set of students in the academic year 2009-10.Academic training at SMDC is constantly innovating and evolving. The upgradation of its teaching structure to the modular system reflects that ethos. The curriculum now includes problem-based learning, small group discussions, and interactive learning supplemented by the latest educational aids taught by highly qualified faculty members. To foster the ideals of morality and ethics in every medical student, the teaching of Behavioral Sciences and Medical Ethics is of fundamental importance and is stressed at the institution. Today, with 750 students, SMDC inspires lifelong learning and dedication to the principles of health care.

A. Eligibility Criteria
Local Applicants
The student must have passed FSc. (Pre-Medical)/Higher Secondary School Certificate or an examination of a foreign university or examining in pakistan body with at least three (3) Science Subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics obtaining a minimum 60% marks in aggregate. In case of foreign examination, such course must have been duly certified by the Inter-Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) as equivalent to FSc. (Pre-Medical) or Intermediate Level of Pakistan.
The candidate must have passed National MDCAT 2023 with at least 55 % marks.
Foreign Applicants
Students with a Foreign Nationality/Resident status desirous of taking admission in MBBS Course must have passed an examination from a foreign university or its examining body or its education system from outside pakistan with at least three (3) Science Subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics, obtaining a minimum of 60 % marks in aggregate. Such a course must have been duly certified by IBCC as equivalent to FSc. (Pre-Medical) or Intermediate Level of Pakistan.
The candidate must have also passed any of the following admission test
- SAT II in 3 of the science subjects i.e., Biology , Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics with atleast 550 marks in each of the three subjects.
- Foreign MCAT / UCAT with atleast 50 % marks.
