Ranee Thakar

The president RCOG, 3rd women president of RCOG and Ist women of color. Ranee Thakar MD FRCOG became President of the RCOG on 9 December 2022. Ranee is a Consultant Obstetrician and Urogynaecologist at Croydon University Hospital and Honorary Senior Lecturer, St George’s University of London. Ranee has been the Secretary of the British Society of Urogynaecology, honorary director of conferences, and Council representative for South Asia. Ranee was Senior Vice President for Global Health, from 2019-2022. Under her leadership, the RCOG global health team secured funding to implement the Essential Gynaecology Skills programme in Bangladesh and she also led the Making Abortion Safe programme, which promotes safe abortion and contraception in five sub-Saharan countries. Maintaining these programmes and expanding the RCOG’s global initiatives, to improve the health of women and girls globally, will remain a priority for Ranee throughout her Presidency. Ranee has a proven track record for supporting colleagues and as co-chair of the RCOG Race Equality Taskforce. Ranee has worked to tackle inequalities across women’s health as one of her Presidential priorities.

Kate Lancaster

Kate has joined the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) as Chief Executive in March 2019, having previously held a number of Board Director roles in both the English and Scottish National Health Service. She has invested in building successful international partnerships for the benefit of women’s health world-wide In addition to her Chief Executive role, Kate is a Non-Executive Director of the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Academic Health Science Network and until recently was a Trustee of Magpas, the Air Ambulance Charity. Kate is an Associate Alumni of the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. Certainly! Here's a brief introduction for Kate Lancaster: Kate Lancaster is the Chief Executive Officer of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG). With over 20 years of board-level experience in the NHS, Kate has held senior leadership roles in both England and Scotland. She is committed to improving women's health globally and has been instrumental in building successful international partnerships. I hope this meets your needs! Waseem Lodhi

Dr. Wasim Lodhi moved to the UK after PG training in Pakistan. he then Did CCT in OB-GYN in the UK His special interests include Outpatient operative hysteroscopy and Medical Education He is involved in various teaching activities with RCOG and internationally. He is a UG & PG examiner. Currently, he is the Regional Champion for MTIs in North Central and East London. He is a panel member from the UK in specialty Training Recruitment interviews. He is a mentor and trainer, holding courses on interview skills, Basic Practical Skills, PPH Management, non Technical Skills, and human Factor contribution in making errors. He has co-authored many papers and a Video book “ How to perform operative procedures in Obs & Gynae”. This book won the BMA Best Book Award in Obs & Gynae category in 2021. Passionate about creating opportunities for professional development of colleagues in the UK and Pakistan.

Wai Yoong

Mr Wai Yoong MBBCh Belf, MD London, FRCOG UK, Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (Tech. Member.): is a consultant Obstetrician and Urogynaecologist at North Middlesex University Hospital London and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College London and Associate Professor at St George’s International School of Medicine. In 2014, he was awarded the Sims Black Travelling Professorship by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists to teach Basic Surgical Skills and PPH management in Jordan. He received the RCOG Berhard Baron Travelling Scholarship in 2018 to observe surgical management of placenta accreta spectrum with Professor Jose Palacios in Argentina. He received his general O&G training in Birmingham and London and completed a Urogynaecology Fellowship in Sydney, Australia. He was also Clinical Research Fellow at the Royal Free Hospital, London and was awarded his MD degree by the University of London. He is the senior organiser of the RCOG Masterclass in Management of Massive Obstetric Haemorrhage and senior founder trustee of Haemorrhage After Childbirth Foundation, a charity dedicated to teaching skills to doctors and midwives on how to manage obstetric haemorrhage. He was a past RCOG National Convenor of Basic Practical Skills Course and is currently on the RCOG Joint Standing Committee for Patient Safety. Wai is an Associate Editor for the Obstetrician and Gynaecologist (TOG) and the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He leads a team of clinicians partnering with British Airways Flight Training to deliver a collaborative aviation-healthcare Human Factors training course using flight simulators and interactive facilitation to reduce medical errors. He has published 150 papers in peer review journals on subjects such as vaginal surgery, surgical management of PPH, neuromodulation and enhanced recovery.

Dr. Schahrazed Rouabhi

Dr. Schahrazed Rouabhi is a highly esteemed consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology. She is affiliated with the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. Dr. Rouabhi is known for her expertise and compassionate approach to patient care, offering a wide range of treatments and procedures in her field2. She is also associated with Harley Street Gynaecology, a leading private gynaecology practice in London.

Dr. Jyotsna Acharya

Dr. Jyotsna Acharya is a highly respected consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist based in Cheshire, United Kingdom. She is affiliated with the Macclesfield District General Hospital and serves as a college tutor. Dr. Acharya is also involved in Royal Colleges Exam Preparatory Courses for RCOG, RCP, RCS, and RCPCH1.
